The heating pad really works well and the moist heat penetrates deep! It feels great to be able to just relax and not have to worry about the timer also as this unit has the 20 minute cycle and will shutoff if you do not reset the cycle again.
The processing and delivery of the product was excellent as Isokinetics was able to give me the Fedex tracking info when I called and they delivered it that day! Thanks Amazon, my back thanks you too!

| I have one of each size of the thermaphore. They are wonderful with the moist heat that they put out. The neck size arthritic one is a little different from the others I have. This one has a timed on/off switch, and because of that, the heat is not as intense. That being said, the heat is still more moist and intense than other heating pads. This one also, being as narror as it is, allows you to wrap it around and elbow, neck or knee. |

I am a massage therapist and recently purchased the 14" x 27" (black box) Thermaphore by Battle Creek (the 14" x 27" covers a large area of the body on most people). It can easily be set for a 20 minute heat cycle by the push of a single button and heats up fast with MOIST heat, then begins cooling towards the end of the cycle. The Thermaphore reduces muscle tension so much that it allows me to accomplish therapeutically much more in a session than I'd be able to otherwise. My massage clients love it!

| I purchased this product because the muscles around my face/jaw area have been spasming from my chronic night clenching. Physical Therapy used moist heat on my face to treat my issue. This product gave me the same results I got from pricey PT visits. It is a bit ackward to have it around your face, but you get used to it. I do recommend this product to anyone experiencing muscle tension. It gives you what it claims. |

Like many other reviewers, I previously owned some some cheap Walgreens heating pads and found them to be usable, but they are cheap and not well made, and prone to failure after a short time.
This is a great heating pad. I love the HUGE size, it can cover my entire back lenghtwise, or I can put it across my lower back and it wraps around my waist a little bit which is really nice.
It heats up faster than any other heating pad I've ever owned, and it also gets hotter. This means relief comes faster and I don't need to use it as long which are both important factors. I don't understand the few reviews where people say it's not hot enough, they either have a problem sensing heat, are just wrong, or got a bad unit (whith I doubt). It is so hot that I cannot last longer than 10 minutes with it turned on (it has a 20 minute timer).
The soft felt-like outer cover is really nice too. It is thick, soft, and a good heavy-duty fabric. Washable too.
Lastly, it comes with a nice LONG cord just in case you don't have an outlet too close by.
The ONLY downside is that it doesn't have any heat control, just on/off. I used to think this was a problem, but after using this I now realize that the hotter the better and the quicker the relief. For those that have very sensitive skin or want something they can set to low heat to use as a warmer, this is not the right product for you |

| The Thermophore heating pad was recommended by my physical therapist. It heats up quickly, and is much hotter than a traditional heating pad. It automatically shuts off after about 20 minutes. I think it has helped reduce the stiffness and swelling in my knee joints. I generally use it before going to bed and find that I sleep more soundly. I have less morning stiffness too. I would recommend this pad for anyone who has found that warm, moist heat helps relieve their arthritis symptoms. |

I have been using Thermophore pads for 2 decades. The original style only heated while you depressed the button. Then, when you drifted off to sleep, it would go off. That was great.
However, the newer Arthritis style Thermophone has been even better. It stays on for about 20 minutes, then automatically shuts off. I use both the neck model and this longer model. The neck one is used around my neck for cervical pain. This longer style is used around my low back and also on my topmost thigh and knee as I sleep on my side.
This one was a replacement for my last one that quit working after about 2 years. I took the control to the old one apart and discovered the wires had pulled loose. So, I recommend not tugging on the cord where it goes into the control. I may have caused it to jerk loose holding it up by the cord and untwisting the cord. I am more careful now.
I still recommend this very highly. |

GOOD FOR PLACING ON TOP OF THE BODY, NOT UNDER IT, AS IT BECOMES REALLY HOT AND EITHER BURNS OR SWEATS.
